Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to Move4Less. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and moving services. By booking or using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website or using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
3. Responsibility for Valuables
Move4Less does not transport valuables such as:
- Personal documents (passports, PR cards, certificates)
- Jewellery, heirlooms, antiques (unless pre-arranged)
These items must be transported by the customer.
We are not liable for loss of valuables, even during full packing services. Special arrangements for antiques must be made in advance and may include additional charges.
4. Items Not Accepted for Transport
We reserve the right to refuse transportation of:
- Hazardous materials (explosives, gas cylinders, chemicals)
- Animals, firearms, counterfeit goods
5. Packing Policy
- Furniture is protected using professional moving blankets
- Packing services and materials are available at additional cost
- Fragile items must be properly packed (bubble wrap, boxes)
- TVs and monitors must be in original packaging
- Items packed by the customer are not covered for damage
6. Oversized and Heavy Items
Additional charges apply for items:
- Over 30 kg
- Larger than 1 cubic metre
Customer responsibilities:
- Ensure items fit through doors, hallways, elevators
- Ensure access is possible
Move4Less is not responsible for:
- Inability to move oversized items
- Damage to property (walls, floors, railings, ceilings, etc.)
7. Elevator Responsibility
Customers must reserve elevators in advance.
Delays caused by lack of reservation are the customer’s responsibility.
8. Parking Requirements
- Customer must secure parking for the moving truck
- Parking fines are the customer’s responsibility
- If distance exceeds 100 metres, additional charges apply
9. Moving Time & Billing
- Time starts when crew arrives and ends after completion
- Billing is rounded to the nearest 15 minutes
- Travel time is typically added (usually 1 hour unless agreed otherwise)
10. Deposit and Payment
- Deposit is required to secure booking
- Booking is confirmed only after deposit is received
- Final payment is due upon completion
Payment methods:
- E-transfer
- Cash
- Credit card (additional fee may apply)
- Bank draft
Important:
- Deposits are non-refundable
- One reschedule allowed with sufficient notice (subject to availability)
- Minimum charge: 3 hours + travel time
If the move cannot proceed due to customer-related reasons, minimum charges still apply.
11. Break Policy
- 10-minute paid break (for jobs over 2 hours)
- 30-minute unpaid break (for jobs over 5 hours)
12. Customer Presence
The customer or authorized representative must be present during loading and unloading.
13. Limitation of Liability
Move4Less is not liable for:
- Damage due to natural conditions (weather, humidity, etc.)
- Customer packing or negligence
- Mechanical or electrical failure of items
- Force-related events (fire, strikes, disasters)
14. Basic Insurance Coverage
If damage occurs due to our fault:
👉 Compensation is limited to $0.60 per pound per item
Move4Less is not liable beyond this amount.
15. Claims
- Claims must be submitted within 7 days after the move
- Late claims will not be accepted
16. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or damages caused by:
- Natural disasters
- Government actions
- Strikes or emergencies
17. Ownership of Goods
Customer confirms:
- Full ownership or legal right to transport goods
- No legal restrictions on items
Move4Less reserves the right to place a lien on goods for unpaid charges.
18. Quote Validity
- Quotes are valid for 7 days
- Prices are locked only after deposit is received
19. AI Communication Disclaimer
Move4Less may use automated tools or AI for communication.
We are not responsible for inaccuracies in automated messages.
Customers should verify important details before relying on them.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
Any disputes will be resolved through arbitration in accordance with Canadian regulations.
